Rhombopora sp.

This is one of the first fossils I prepared many years ago.

The larger close-up views illustrate why magnification is important when preparing fossils.
Time is also a factor. The old saying that "haste makes waste" applies also to fossil preparation.
This specimen was prepared under the microscope using only a micro-abrasive unit. No other
tools were required because Mother Nature had prepared 75% of the fossil for me.

If you are going to prepare a fossil and others may use a magnifier to examine it ...
I would suggest slow preparation under magnification.
