Soleniscus sp.
A smooth-shelled rounded gastropod with a prominant ridge on the
inner aperture of the shell. The ridge can be seen as a groove on the
lower part of the first image of this gastropod.Viewer Comments:
This is an internal mold (a steinkern) of the gastropod shell. It is
composed of sediment that filled the shell after the animal died. The
orginal shell has been entirely destroyed by dissolution from pore
fluids in the sediment, leaving only an impression of the shell. This
type of shell loss is common with shell composed of aragonite.
