Gigantoproductus inflatus Sarytcheva

Discussion:
Large wide shells with strong variable radial ribbing.
Viewer Comments:
This gigantoproductid has irregular and strong radial ribbing and is wider
than long and has less shell curvature than G. crassus. The exterior of the
ventral valve shows scattered spine bases for large spines. The interior of
the large fragment of ventral valve shows a prominent striated adductor
muscle scar and many small pits that make the interior surface rough.
This specimen also shows the very thick prismatic shell layer that forms
most of the shell.
