Discussion:
This specimen shows the change in growth form of auloporid
corallites that occurs with maturity. The growing edge of the
colony produces buds that grow along a surface and spreads
laterally until maturity, when the corallites turn and grow upwards
from the attachment surface. In this colony the corallites tubes
are spaced far apart.Go-Back
