Here is an oddity
This is a small (1.5") Turbinopsis shumardi
snail that was completely encrusted by a
stromatoporoid (thought to be a type of
sponge). It is from the Jeffersonville
Limestone, Eifelian stage, Middle Devonian,
from a road cut on I-71 east of Louisville, KY.
