Those of you that have collected Platystrophia brachiopods that are so abundant in the Upper Ordovician of SE Indiana, central Kentucky and SW Ohio, I have created an Excel spreadsheet that lists the species by formation. A few are index fossils. Only a hand full span 3 or more formations.
The data is from Steven Holland's Cincinnatian Fossils and Stratigraphy web site that was compiled from a variety of sources published over the past 130 years.
It would be fun to post photos of the various species. Beyond the common species, most images are hard to find. I have P. acutiliriata, P. cypha, P. laticostata and P. ponderosa.
