Here is the dinosaur bone house. It was featured in
Ripley's "Believe It or Not" as the
oldest house on Earth. The bones came from Como Bluff, the famous dinosaur area
where Cope and Marsh had their late 1800's dinosaur "Bone War". The
cabin is on
old US 30, the "Lincoln Highway" and is a short trip of a dozen miles
or so off I-80
at the Medicine Bow or Mcfadden exits. It is worth the visit to see the bone.
The
fossilized foot pads of the large dinosaurs is interesting. Building has a $3
admission
if you like and a minor display of a few odd ammonites, and other fossils of
the
Shirley Basin/local Eocene.
