Discussion:

This is an unusual find because one seldom finds complete specimens
in the Fern Glen. This specimen was found in the transitional zone
between the white colored matrix and the reddish colored matrix.
The best brachiopods seem to come from that transitional lithology.

Viewer Comments:

Looking though Weller's monograph on Mississippian brachiopods, it
looks like Spirifer vernonensis Swallow. The name Spirifer is no
longer used for this species, which is the type species for the genus
Fernglenia Carter, 1992.
